Privacy policy

I keep things simple here. That applies to software, and it applies to your information. This page covers what gets stored, what gets seen, and what doesn’t.

Comments and moderation

Who sees my comment before it’s public?

Only me. Every comment goes into a moderation queue. I see the comment itself, the display name on your account, the email address tied to your account, and the program page you commented on. Nothing more.

When does my comment become visible?

After I read it and approve it. Until then, only you can see it, marked “awaiting moderation” on the page.

Accounts

What does an account store?

How do I delete my account and comments?

Write to me at [email protected] and I’ll remove everything. I delete the account, all comments, favorites, and notification settings. If a comment was already approved and public, it disappears from the site entirely.

Cookies

Do you use cookies?

If you’re just browsing, no. The site sets zero cookies for visitors who aren’t signed in.

When you sign in, two things get set: a session cookie so the site remembers you as you move between pages, and a small marker cookie that keeps you signed in. That’s it. Both are strictly functional. Sign out and they vanish.

Any advertising or tracking cookies?

No. I don’t run ads, and I don’t use third-party trackers. The catalog is ad-free and tracker-free by design.

Server logs

What gets logged?

Ordinary server logs. IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. I keep them for security and basic troubleshooting—spotting broken links, blocking bots, that sort of thing. They rotate out periodically and are never used to build profiles or track behavior over time.

Notifications

How do notifications work?

They live on the site only. When a program you’ve favorited gets an update, you’ll see a notification when you’re signed in. No emails go out for updates. If I ever need to reach you about something account-related—a security issue, for instance—I’ll use the email you signed up with, and that’s rare.

What I never do

Sell data. Share data. Drop third-party advertising trackers onto the site. I built this catalog to be a quiet, focused place, and that extends to how your information is handled. Your reading habits are your own business.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, I’ll update this page and note the change clearly. No surprise rewrites buried in fine print. If the change is significant, I’ll also mention it briefly on the site itself so you don’t miss it.
