What ruleset does it use?
The game runs on Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. That means familiar dice rolls, skills, and spells drive every encounter.
Environmental tactics
It is turn-based and deeply physical. You push enemies off ledges, set grease on fire, or drop a chandelier on a group — companions and the environment are part of your tactics. Stealth offers a quieter path past trouble.
What goes into a character?
Fifteen races and a full D&D class list. You build a party of four, each member with their own skills, background, and role in the story.
Is it a native Mac app?
Tabletop pacing
People who miss tabletop pacing. A session where one conversation can shift the next four hours. The Mac version suits anyone who wants that density without booting into another OS.
It also clicks for players who treat character flaws as fuel. A botched persuasion roll here is not a reload moment — it is a branch you did not expect. If you save-scum every check, you work against the design.
Trackpad chaos
Turn off Auto-Select After Combat. It grabs every party member at once and feels chaotic on a trackpad. Selecting one character at a time keeps movement deliberate.
Switch Edge Panning off. You already have the middle mouse button or two-finger drag. Edge pan fights you on a MacBook screen.
Lower Camera Rotation Speed by about twenty percent. The default whip-pan makes targeting precise objects harder than it should be. A slower arc helps when you are aiming a shove or placing a cloud of daggers between two allies.
If you hear audio crackle, set Output Configuration to match your actual speaker layout instead of Auto. The Metal backend sometimes guesses wrong. Stereo on internal speakers avoids the glitch.
Yes. It requires Metal 2.2 features and runs natively, not through a compatibility layer. eGPUs are supported.
