You’ve scrolled past too many menus and match-three grids. You want the simple arc of a well-aimed bird.

Launch

Pull back the slingshot, watch the trajectory dots, release. Physics does the rest.

Progress

Hundreds of levels drawn from the original games and movies. Power-ups keep later worlds from becoming a grind.

Alternatives

Angry Birds 2 shares the flock but adds spell cards and a stamina system that interrupts long sessions. Reloaded keeps it simpler — no energy to wait on, no mid-level upgrades to manage.

Badland leans darker, with silhouette art and one-tap controls. It feels more atmospheric. Reloaded is louder, brighter, built around the slingshot pull you remember.

Kingdom Rush scratches the same casual itch but swaps physics for tower placement. If you want projectiles flying on real arcs, Reloaded is the closer fit.

Three-second launch

On an M4 Mac mini the game opens in three seconds flat. No splash screen linger, no shader compilation wait. Level restarts are instant — important when you’re three attempts deep on a three-star run.

Memory use sits under 400 MB after an hour of play. The fan never spun up during testing. The app respects macOS’s built-in frame pacing, so scrolling through the level select map stays smooth even while iCloud syncs scores in the background.

One minor note: the game keeps an iCloud connection open for leaderboards. On spotty hotel Wi‑Fi, opening the leaderboard screen can stall for a second or two. The levels themselves run offline without trouble.

Questions

Does it run on Intel Macs? Yes. The binary is universal, so older Intel machines get the same frame rate as Apple Silicon Macs — just expect warmer metal and a bit more fan noise past the hundredth pig fortress.

Is this the full original game? It’s a remaster. The slingshot physics match the classic feel, but the level order blends worlds from multiple Angry Birds eras. You get Red and Chuck alongside newer faces like Silver right from the start.

Will my kid’s iPad progress carry over? No. iCloud syncs scores across Macs on the same account, but there’s no cross‑save with the mobile version.

Local leaderboards track your scores against others on the same machine.

Questions

Does it run on Apple Silicon Macs?

Yes. It runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 11.0 or later, including an M4 Mac mini.
