Demeo is a cooperative tabletop dungeon crawl you play on a Mac.
1. Assemble a party. Each player picks a role: hunter, sorcerer, assassin, defender, bard, mage, or barbarian. The choices shape every turn.
2. Move your miniature across the board. The action plays out from a shared top-down view of a physical-looking game set.
3. Draw ability cards and roll the dice. Combat and skill checks resolve with cards, not character sheets. Luck and planning carry equal weight.
4. Clear the floor together. Enemies act between your turns. One reckless move can end a run, so the group talks through every play.
The adventure started in the Elven Necropolis and grew from there. Friends in the same room or across the internet see the same board, the same dice, and the same consequences.
Screen shake
Turn off screen shake before your first dungeon. The effect fights the board-game feel.
Set the camera to free look. The default view locks to the active character and makes scanning a room slower than it should be. Free look lets you pan independently while others take their turn — useful when you are planning two moves ahead.
Lower the voice chat volume one notch. The audio mix favors speech over the board ambience, and the creak of a chest lid matters more than small talk.
Steady groups
This works best for small, steady groups. Four people who already know each other’s play style will finish a floor faster than a pickup party ever could. If your evenings already include a shared calendar and a voice call, Demeo slots right in.
Solo players get less out of it. You can control multiple characters, but the friction of swapping between roles pulls against the real draw — the table talk, the groans when a die lands wrong, the one friend who insists on opening every door.
Mac users with limited gaming time notice the structure immediately. A full adventure runs under an hour. No grinding, no inventory management between sessions. You sit, you play, you win or you wipe. The game respects a short evening.
