Six exhibit types. More than thirty subcategories. Over two hundred individual items waiting behind museum glass.
Two Point Museum is a management sim about filling halls, funding expeditions, and keeping thieves from walking off with the prize fossil. You send experts into the field. They bring back exhibits. You design the layout, set the ticket price, and hope the security cameras cover the blind spots.
Outside the campaign, a sandbox mode hands you a blank plot and full creative control. No objectives. Just space.
Light tone
- People who like management sims with light tone and deep systems
- Builders who want a sandbox with no financial pressure
- Players who enjoy expedition loops and collection hunting
Thief placement
- Thieves are a real mechanic — security placement matters
- Voice language support is limited to English, German, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese
Path width
New curators tend to overstuff rooms. A crowded hall blocks guest flow, and a blocked guest is a guest who leaves. Leave paths wide. Two tiles minimum between displays.
Another common slip: ignoring staff training. Sending an untrained expert on a difficult expedition wastes time and funding. The expedition fails. The museum sits empty. Train first, explore second.
And the gift shop. Beginners treat it as an afterthought. It isn't. A well-placed shop near the exit turns a satisfied visitor into a repeat donor. Place it where the crowd thins, not where it bottlenecks.
Fits with
The game plays well alongside Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus if you treat them as a trilogy of management styles. Hospital teaches queue logic. Campus teaches room prestige. Museum asks for both, plus spatial storytelling.
On macOS, it cooperates with Mission Control cleanly. Swipe between the game and a note-taking app to track expedition results or sketch exhibit layouts. The game pauses when focus leaves, so no crisis unfolds while you check a reference image.
Spotlight doesn't index save files deeply, but they live in a predictable local folder. Back them up with Time Machine and pick up your museum after a system migration without fuss.
Skull return
You open the prehistoric museum. A notification waits: an expedition returned with a partial triceratops skull. You place it in the main hall and adjust the lighting to amber.
A guest complains about the toilet queue. You drop a second restroom near the aquarium wing and lower the drink prices slightly to slow demand. The janitor is already mopping a spill by the entrance. You promote her to senior staff and assign her a tighter patrol zone.
Then the radio crackles. A thief is inside, masked, making for the gemstone exhibit. Your camera caught him at the door. The guard intercepts before the display case is touched. You exhale. You raise the guard's salary by a fraction and order a new expedition to the frozen map. The museum hums on.
