Remote approval context. That's one of the things tightened up in version 1.0.51. When an SSH session needs a decision, Vibe Island now recovers more cleanly and keeps the context right where you need it — in the notch.

The core idea hasn't changed. Your MacBook notch becomes a small control center for AI coding agents. Approvals, questions, finished tasks — they appear briefly, then get out of your way.

Multitool fluency

  • People juggling multiple AI tools — it speaks Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, and five others
  • Tracking live quota for Claude, Codex, and Kimi without opening a dashboard
  • Approving actions without leaving your editor

Silicon support

  • Built for Apple Silicon; also runs on Intel Macs (ARM and x86 64-bit)
  • Requires macOS 14 or later
  • Interface in six languages including Latin American Spanish, added this release

Notch trust

Most new users keep glancing at the notch. The whole point is that you don't. Let Vibe Island interrupt only when it needs a decision. Trust it to stay quiet otherwise.

Another common one: forgetting to point the app at the right terminal session. If approvals don't appear, check that the monitored terminal is actually running the agent. Vibe Island watches specific sessions — not the whole machine.

And don't install it expecting a full dashboard. There isn't one. The notch shows what's happening now, not a history log. That's the design.

Dynamic Island

Gere puts AI monitoring in a sidebar. That's fine if you have the screen space and don't mind another panel. Vibe Island uses the one strip of screen you rarely use anyway. Different trade-offs.

Archie focuses on cloud-based AI orchestration and team workflows. Vibe Island stays local — no accounts, no cloud, just your Mac and your terminal. For solo developers who prefer that, the difference is clear.

Olly is broader: it monitors all background tasks, not just AI agents. Useful in a different way. Vibe Island narrows the focus to exactly one thing. Sometimes that's the cleaner choice.

The notch does something useful now.
