Version 8.6.2 tidied up two things: Safari History cleanup that was too eager and removed pinned tabs, and a display glitch in the UnWanted data view when Cookie wasn’t the frontmost app. The current build, 8.6.3, carries those fixes forward.

It runs on any Mac with macOS 12 or later, Intel or Apple Silicon. One app, no separate downloads.

What you get is a consolidated privacy panel for your browsers. Cookie shows cookies, Flash data, and localStorage in a combined view—simple or advanced. You can whitelist a tracking cookie per domain or per individual cookie. Automatic deletion runs on browser exit, wake from sleep, or a custom schedule, and you configure it separately for Chrome, Chromium, Canary, and Brave.

Watch first

Install it and do nothing for twenty-four hours. Let Cookie watch your browsing patterns before you set any rules.

Then open the advanced view. Sort by domain and spend ten minutes whitelisting—bank, email, work tools, the forum you actually post on. Be stingy. Every cookie you allow is a cookie you’ll forget you allowed.

Set deletion to run on browser quit. It’s the cleanest trigger: you finish a session, Cookie finishes the crumbs. No schedules to tune, no wake-from-sleep surprises.

If you use multiple Chrome profiles, configure each one separately. Cookie treats them as distinct browsers—the work profile and the personal profile don’t share rules unless you tell them to.

Cleanup layer

Cookie doesn’t block trackers—it removes what they leave behind. Pair it with a content blocker in Safari or uBlock Origin in Firefox, and you cover both sides: prevention and cleanup.

The iCloud support is understated but useful. Favorites and whitelist rules sync across Macs, so you set preferences once. It respects Dark and Light mode from macOS, which matters more than it should in a utility you’ll open daily.

For developers testing cookie for mac behavior across browsers, the combined view saves time—no jumping between six different storage inspectors. One list, all browsers, sortable by name or data size.

It replaces scattered browser settings with a single, quiet utility.
